Christina Paziuk
Toronto, ON
Christina is currently in her second year at Queen’s University studying Health Sciences. She has been involved with CYMK since childhood and has held the positions of Vice-President and President of the Toronto Long Branch CYMK. Being involved with CYMK has allowed her to create many new friendships and memories with people, not only in Toronto, but across Canada. She is forever grateful for all the adventures she has been part of with CYMK.

Sasha Tiaglei
Winnipeg, MB
Sasha is currently in her first year of studying political science and psychology, as well as Central and East European studies, at the University of Manitoba. She has been involved with CYMK since childhood, having previously held the positions of President on Winnipeg’s junior executive and later Treasurer on the senior executive. She is extremely grateful for the connections, memories, and friendships she has made being part of CYMK in the last eight years.

Serhiy Swinton
Winnipeg, MB
Serhiy is a full-time construction worker with the company S & J and is looking for an apprenticeship in trades. He was born in Ukraine and moved to Canada a year later, where he soon became a part of CYMK. He has previously held the position of treasurer for the Winnipeg CYMK. CYMK has been an excellent way for Serhiy to stay a part of the Ukrainian community. He is grateful for all the opportunities and hopes that this will continue throughout this term.

Roxoliana Tsisar
Edmonton, AB
Roxoliana finished her Bachelor of Sciences, studying biology and psychology, at the University of Alberta. She has been part of CYMK since childhood, holding executive positions at various levels. She currently works as a mental health research assistant at UofA, and a community coordinator at the Ukrainian Canadian Congress - Alberta Provincial Council. Roxoliana spends her time volunteering at UofA's Sexual Assault Centre and mentoring Ukrainian newcomers.

Mykhailo Khakhula

Mykhailo is currently in his second year of studying Mechatronics Engineering and Management at McMaster University. He has been involved with CYMK for the last ten years and has previously held the Treasurer position on Toronto's local executive. He is extremely grateful for all the memories he has made while being part of CYMK as well as the friendships and adventures.

Max Kowalchuk
Winnipeg, MB
Max is in his final year in International Development at the Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg. He has been a member of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral in Winnipeg his entire life and has always been active in parish life as an altar boy and member of the Cathedral Choir. Max has been involved with CYMK for 19 years and has held positions at all levels, Junior, Senior, Regional and National Executive.

Michelle Kowalchuk

Michelle Kowalchuk has been Advisor for National CYMK-UOY for the past two terms (since 2019) as well as Advisor for Winnipeg Sr. CYMK for several years. She has had a lifelong connection to CYMK-UOY, starting as a CYMKivets in Oakburn, MB and later in Winnipeg and has seen both of her children, Talia and Max grow up in CYMK. Michelle is a strong supporter of youth-led activism and understands CYMK-UOY provides an important opportunity for our community to nurture the leaders of tomorrow! Professionally, Michelle is a Social Worker who has worked with children, youth and families for over 30 years and currently spends significant time volunteering to support Ukrainian newcomers through her involvement in UCC Manitoba and Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral.

Natalie Olynyk Kowalenko

Natalka Olynyk Kowalenko has been a CYMK advisor for Long Branch CYMK (also
now known as Toronto CYMK) for over 20 years. In addition, she has served as a
National CYMK advisor for three terms (since 2015). In addition to her other roles within the church over the years of serving on Parish
Council, Parish Council Chair for 4 years, teaching Sunday School, hosting the
parish’s live stream, singing in the Church choir, serving on the Bishop’s council,
organizing youth retreats in the Eastern Eparchy, she is passionate about working with
the young people of our Church, as they embrace the culture of their Ukrainian
heritage, develop and hone their leadership skills, continue to learn about and
incorporate the tenets of our Orthodox faith Into their lives and develop life-long
friendships with other young people both within their parish and across Canada.
